28*, feels like 18*, 63% humidity, NE 12 mph wind, cloudy, FLOOD WARNING The thousand dollar dog is in big trouble. Mr. Hyper blamed the cats on getting into my ghetto grow light stand, knocking it down, eating my ferns, unpotting them, and eating most of the catnip plants soil and all. But I knew better. I was angry. I had been babying these plants, tenderly administering my love to them. I had

46*, 100% humidity, sw 6 mph wind, Rain, FLOOD WARNING, FLASH FLOOD WATCH I'm going to talk about me for a few minutes, mainly because I'm in a meditative mood. Contemplating the state of things, perhaps brought on by the coming spring and the new job. You see, there are two sides to the coin of Girl Gone Gardening, an that is mainly why I keep two blogs. There used to be only one main blog,

37*, feels like 30*, 67% humidity, SE 9 mph wind, fair It's supposed to be 53* today later. I plan to take advantage of this nice weather, you can beet on it! I was thinking I should go to the heron rookery, to check out the nests today, as March is the best time to view the nest repairs without the confusion of leaves in the way. But Mr. Hyper, after seeing the pictures of the fun I had last

Here is my roots line up! Potato, Organic Carola-- These are on order for the spring from Pinetree Garden Seeds. I've never grown them before. I hope I have better luck this year with spuds! If i don't, I'll in the future save the garden space and just buy potatoes from the farms.Radish, Rainbow Mix---these came from Thompson & Morgan seeds. I didn't buy them but someone gave them to me. I

16*, 90% humidity, calm winds, foggy, FLOOD WARNING My pepper list is not quite as extensive nor impressive as my tomato list. I think they are just harder to grow for me, and I see much less output for the input I put into them. Still, a fresh organic sweet pepper is better then anything store bought. I grow hot peppers only for my husband, who can eat a habanaro raw. You think I kid, but I

25*, feels like 14*, 83% humidity, W 12 mph wind, light snow As you can see, our weather is back to normal seasonal winter crud. I was afraid my outside plants would start thinking that it was time to grow which would be disasterous. Yesterday I took the first step in raising my own meat here at GGG. Mr. Hyper and I drove up into Michigan to rescue a bunny that was heading for freezer camp with

37*, 100% humidity, E 3 mph wind, cloudy OK, do you know how hard it is to find local foods this time of year? If it were just me, I could survive on beans and rice if I had to until I found a source of local meat. I'm sure it has to be out there somewhere, after all, there are farms around. But until I can find some, I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy meat. You see, Mr. Hyper

Help me name our newest foster kid! (Peeking out of hiding) Kitten doesn't give a rats behind about the ferret, but the dog on the other hand, "What is that horrid smelly monster?" Still keepin' her eyes peeled on the big fuzzy lump. Moseying on to the next hiding spot. This kid came to us last night---she had been living under Mr. Hyper's aunt's house. She's somewhat used to people but
